This beautiful heartfelt event will take place at the Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa near Blackburn on November 21st 2015.
The Dunkenhalgh was chosen to host this ceremony for a few reasons. Imagine you are child receiving an award for being inspirational and you are all dressed up in your best outfit with new shoes feeling very exited about the day ahead. Now imagine turning up to what appears to be a castle! This is the magical feeling we are wanting to create on the day because everyone, young or old, deserves to feel like royalty on the day. The Dunkenhalgh sits proudly in its own ground looking out across the borough and is situated conveniently just off junction 7 of the M65. The staff are warm and welcoming and the manager Ivan has embraced what the whole event is about and is keen to ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.
The day will run a little like this (approximate times only):
3pm: Guests staying over can check in. This is the earliest arrival time. A beautiful setting awaits :-)
5pm: Some very special guest start to arrive as we congregate in the function reception area. VIP Reception for Award Winners and special guests.

7.30/8pm: Children’s Awards start
9pm: Interval with various entertainment for children.

We are not going to tell you anything else! You’ll have to wait and see!
Katy’s sister Charley wanted to have a role in the event so we sat down together and worked out what this could be. Charley then drew a beautiful picture of an angel using Katy’s favourite colours. When we asked her what it was she simply replied “It’s my angel, like Katy is now”. Charley’s Angel. The name stuck. We had the awards beautifully designed and now the winners can exclusively have a piece of Charley’s heart on the night and take home one of her very special angels.
What will happen on the day?
David and Paula Holmes still have the bucket list that Katy made but was unable to complete. Katy’s wishes were very simple and are shared by many children everywhere! We aim to recreate these on the night but don’t want to give anything away! Katy loved Royal Blue and all things Disney too! The day will be enjoyed by children and adults alike.
There will be some very special guests coming along to share the evening and present the awards which have been invited because of their love of entertaining people and creating valuable smiles and treasured memories. Many of them are based in the North West too! We look forward to sharing more information about these wonderful guests nearer the time
